How to create a run club near you

Week 1 — decide the three things
- Check the gap: browse clubs near you and pick the slot nobody serves (a day, a neighbourhood, a pace, a community).
- Fix day + time. Once. Forever. Consistency is the product.
- Fix the meeting spot: findable landmark, transit-close, something open after.
- Write the one-line identity: "Easy 5k, every Tuesday 6:30 PM, from the fountain — nobody dropped."
Week 2 — make it findable
- Instagram handle; bio = the one-liner. That's your whole website for year one.
- List the club free on Runclubs.pro — runners searching your city find you, and you get a link-in-bio club page with the meeting details and directions built in.
- Group chat (WhatsApp/Signal) for weather calls.
- Tell fifteen humans directly. Personal asks beat posts.
Week 3 — run the first run
- Show up twenty minutes early, stand somewhere obvious.
- Names at the start, route in one sentence, regroup points promised and kept.
- Sweep the back yourself — the founder's spot is last, not first.
- Photo at the start, post after. The grid is your proof of existence.
Week 4 — make it a habit, not an event
- Run it again. And again. Two people in drizzle still counts — post that too.
- Deputize early: one regular who can lead when life happens to you.
- Set the etiquette defaults out loud before they're needed.
- Book the post-run table; the café is half the club.
After day 30
Keep the streak, welcome every new face like you were once them (you were), and when the crew is steady, the sponsorship playbook and sponsor network are waiting. Clubs die of inconsistency and cliques; you now control both.
